Frequently Asked Questions What is Multiverse Places? Multiverse Places is a revolutionary 3D virtual world that brings together the best of massively multiplayer online games and social networking sites. The beta release of Multiverse Places enables you to socialize in a visually-stunning Times Square environment through customizable avatars and integrated voice chat. In addition, you can customize your own apartment with images, music, and videos. Like social networking sites, you can learn about a person's real-world interests and tastes by visiting their place (their apartment). In addition, you can also interact in real-time together. Future releases of Multiverse Places will offer deep gameplay, additional themed zones, improved avatar interaction, and improved avatar and place customization. Does it cost anything to play Multiverse Places? Multiverse Places is completely free to download and experience. How do I run Multiverse Places? To get started, visit the download page and click "Download." Click OK to save the installer program (MultiverseSetup.exe) to your desktop, then run it to install the Multiverse World Browser - Places Special Edition. After installing the World Browser, double-click the desktop icon, register for a Multiverse account, and then login. After you login, you can set up your profile; once the World Browser has downloaded all the required 3D assets, you will be able to click the Enter World button to enter Multiverse Places. NOTE: If you previously installed the Multiverse World Browser and signed up for a Multiverse Network account, you can log in Multiverse Places by running the World Browser, logging in, and then clicking on the "Multiverse Places" icon. What are the minimum system requirements to run Multiverse Places? See the download page for detailed system requirements and an online tool that can determine if your system meets the requirements. I downloaded the Multiverse World Browser, but it won't start—what should I do? Please check to ensure your system meets the minimum system requirements to run Places. Please visit the Can You Run It? page to determine if your system meets the system requirements. This will quickly analyze your system and let you know if any changes/updates are required. I registered for an account, but never got the verification email. Check you spam folder. Verification emails often are caught by spam filters. What do you do with the info I provide during the registration process, specifically my e-mail address and date of birth? We only use this information to authenticate your login. Multiverse does not share this with any third-party organization ever. For more information, please see the Multiverse Privacy Policy. Can I change my avatar's clothes and name? When you first enter Multiverse Places you have the opportunity to create and customize your in-world character (avatar). You have the ability to select from several bodies and face types, hair styles, and outfits. How do I find my place (room) in Multiverse Places? The first time you create an avatar and enter Multiverse Places you will appear in your personal place. To leave your place, right-click the door and select a new location to visit. The next time you log in, you'll appear in the same location you were when logged out. To return to your place, go back to the Places hotel and right-click the elevator doors. A menu will pop-up giving you the ability to go to your room, other people's rooms, and public spaces. Can I add furniture, picture frames, televisions, and stereos to my room? We are currently adding the capability to deliver higher levels of customization in your personal rooms, but initially you are limited to working with the basic templates we provide.
